Grand Rapids Coins operates our business by appointment only. We do this to ensure the safety and security of our customers. You may wonder why we do not operate a retail showroom or have hours in which we are open to the public. Let’s talk about the advantages of meeting by private appointment only. 

Meeting By Appointment Is More Secure

Could you imagine meeting your financial advisor, accountant, or banker to obtain a home mortgage in a room full of strangers hanging around you? Most of us have an expectation of privacy when it comes to our finances. In addition to being a fun hobby, coin collecting is also an investment. When it comes time to make a purchase or dispose of a collection, the last thing anyone wants is to feel rushed or uncomfortable.

Our policy is that we meet our customers by appointment and those appointments, which include customers picking up purchased coins locally, must be scheduled in advance. If you would like us to evaluate coins for sale, we would be happy to look at them. Please call us to schedule a time that is convenient for you. We are located near the RiverTown Crossings mall, minutes off of the I-196 exit, at 3181 Prairie St. SW in Grandville, Michigan. Parking is available and free. 

The primary reason that we have this policy is that it takes any pressure or worry out of the transaction for our customers. When we meet with you privately, there’s no one looking over your shoulder and ascertaining which or how many coins you have. That means your property remains private. They and any other coins you have are safer if strangers aren’t aware that you have them. 

Because we meet with you one on one, we can take the time that we need to examine your coins, explain the evaluation process, and answer any questions that you may have about coin values, particular coins, or your options. We will make you a fair offer, but we won’t pressure you to accept it. You will have time to consider what you want to do without worrying that someone else is waiting to be served. You also don’t have to wait in line to talk with us because we will be ready to talk with you when you get here. 

You don’t have to register, fill out an application form, or give us any of your private data in order to sell or purchase anything from us. We never ask for your private information. If you would like to receive an email from us about our updated inventory, we will add you to our list, but we will not reveal or sell your data to anyone else. 

We do not recommend selling coins or coin collections at establishments like pawn shops or storefronts that advertise “We Buy Gold.” These stores are less secure, and it’s very likely that they will not give you the best price for your coins either. Beware of any smaller shops with no phone number to call, a bad or non-existent track record with the BBB, and a high pressure sales pitch. It’s too easy to get swindled by such places.
